Weston-Super-Mare, located in Somerset, is a seaport located on the shores of Bristol Channel. The primary attraction in the immediate area is Weston Bay, which features miles of beach as well as the typical seaside attractions. The Grand Pier is one of the biggest draws. Visitors will also find the North Somerset Museum interesting as it highlights the history of the local area back to pre-historic times. There is also a helicopter museum that contains more than 80 different exhibits hailing from around the world. The beach, of course, is also popular. There is an area that is specially designated for buggies. The Sequarium is another popular exhibit, offers numerous aquatic displays. Boat trips are available as well.

The seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare is located on the Bristol Channel and is home to around 70,000 people. The town can trace its history back to the Iron Age but its rise to fame was as a seaside town in Victorian times. The first hotel in the town was built in 1808 and opened to the public in 1810. Originally called Reeves, it is still standing today and is now known as the Royal Hotel.

The engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel lived in the town whilst the Bristol and Exeter Railway was being built. The railway finally reached the town in 1841, helping it to grow rapidly. In turn, this led to the building of the town's first pier (Birnbeck Pier) which sadly has now fallen into disrepair, although there are said to be plans to restore it to its former glory. The town's Grand Pier has been burned down twice in its history, most recently in 2008.

Weston-super-Mare is famous for its long sandy beaches, which slope very gently and at low tide it is a long walk out to the sea itself and at these times the beach turns into mud flats well before you reach the sea but you have plenty of space to build sandcastles or bathe in the sun. The tidal rise and fall in the area is the second largest in the world. In recent years the town has been home to the T4 on the Beach television show.

Elsewhere in the town is a helicopter museum, with a display of over eighty helicopters and other flying machines. In July each year there are "helidays" where rotary winged aircraft from around the world are flown in. During the autumn, the town sees the Weston Beach Race, a Motocross event that regularly attracts around eighty thousand spectators who watch the event.
