It is also a nature reserve and home to a herd of Kashmir goats who are descendents of the original goats given to the town by Queen Victoria. Bird watchers can see a number of different bird colonies in the area, including many different types of sea birds. The Great Orme also has a number of wells that still supply running water to local areas. One of the easiest ways to reach the top of the headland is on the Great Orme Tramway, which is the last remaining street tramway in Britain. It has been taking visitors to the summit since it was built in 1902.

If you are planning to stay in Llandudno in May, the town is home to a three day Victorian Carnival with some of the streets turned into a fairground and a daily carnival parade. During the carnival, many people dress up in Victorian costumes and there are steam engines, bands and town criers to look at.
