Kingston Upon Thames, located in Surrey, is located within the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames within London. There are some records that show that the first council within the town of Kingston Upon Thames dates back to 838 and on this council was Egbert of Wessex, the king of Wessex and also the son of the king that was known as Ethelwulf. The town of Kingston Upon Thames was mentioned within the Doomsday Book which dates back to 1086.
The central part of the town is a very busy area that is heavily concentrated with the retail sector. There are also a small number of civic buildings and business offices within the centre of the town. There are also a few car parks in the centre of town and this is helpful to the many people that go shopping in the centre of the town or to work there.
