Haverfordwest a small sleepy Welsh village in the southern parts of Wales, manages to punch significantly above its weight and lure in thousands of visitors each and every year, thanks to its close proximity to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park which is an exceptionally scenic natural beauty spot.
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park whilst being one of three other national parks located in Wales, is the only national park in the whole of the UK which was specifically founded due to the gorgeous view that it offered, and as a result is the most popular national park in the whole of Wales, drawing in visitors from across the world.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is as varied as it visually stunning, being 240 square miles in dimension, it features sandy beaches, marshlands and dense woodlands as well. However, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has so much more to offer than just a scenic view but also contains a number of attractions within its boundaries. Within its parameters, there are over 75 areas designated as "of special scientific interest" a marine nature reserve, as well as special areas devoted solely to conservation.
For those who are more inclined towards history than nature, then a visit to Picton castle is defiantly in order. The Castle was originally built in the 13th century, although sadly it has underwent numerous renovations during its lifetime meaning that little of the original work still remains. This is not to decry the current architecture of the Castle however, which is nothing short of amazing!
